Celebrating Michigan’s First FAME Graduates!

Congratulations to the first Michiganders to complete the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) apprenticeship program — Andrew Denton, Samuel Kozle, Kevin Liskow, Michael Rood, and Bryan Tank.

These Washtenaw Community College (WCC) students made history by gaining valuable hands-on experience and earning an advanced manufacturing-related associate degree through the state’s first FAME Mitten Chapter cohort.

After years of planning, WCC became the first higher education institution in Michigan to join the FAME Mitten Chapter, which is led by Toyota USA and supported by Michigan Works! Southeast, WIN, and Ann Arbor SPARK.These trailblazing graduates trained with employers such as Toyota, Novi Precision Products, Inc., and Orbitform—and five additional local companies are now hosting FAME apprentices.

Meg Wallace, Senior Engineer at Toyota and President of the FAME Mitten Chapter, praised the graduates for "paving the way for others and helping shape the future of the program." Learn more about the FAME program by clicking here.
